Kilimanjaro Climbing Routes

Called the “Whiskey Route”, this is the most scenic and popular way to climb Kilimanjaro. It is a little more challenging, but the views and higher success rate make it a top choice.

Lemosho Routes

One of the routes with fewer crowds. It gives you more time to acclimatize, which means a higher chance of reaching the summit. Great for those who want a peaceful climb.

Marangu Routes

Known as the “Coca-Cola Route”, this is the only route with hut accommodations instead of tents. It is shorter and less challenging, best for first-time climbers.

Umbwe Routes

Steepest and most challenging trail, fast ascent with fewer climbers, suited for experienced hikers. Known for dramatic ridges and adventurous trekking. 

Shira Routes

Starts at high altitude on the western side, very scenic but best for acclimatized trekkers. Offers wide open landscapes and fewer crowds, joining Lemosho later on.

Rongai Routes

This route approaches from the northern side near Kenya. It is quieter, less crowded, perfect if you prefer a wilderness experience. The gradual ascent makes it to be easier routes.
